90 percent of the new developments on the Costa del Sol is second residence
The steadily increasing urban new developments in Costa del Sol are betting more on quality instead of quantity to satisfy the needs of the high-level profile that has been establishing during the past few years in Western Costa del Sol.
Although there is not a specific number of the modern and sophisticated buildings in the whole coast, Estepona -the municipality with the highest development in the last four years- estimates that over 3,000 units are being developed only in their area, and most of them are located in the suburbs.
Despite the real estate drop in the last few years of the past decade, the sector in Costa del Sol has been reborn from the ashes like a fairy tale and kickstarted as one of the best real estate investments in all Europe.
According to the president of the Andalusian Federation of Builders and the largest local real estate exhibition Expo Costa del Sol, unlike capital Malaga, 90% of these new developmetns are being conceptualised as second residences for people who are looking to experience the marvels of 300 sunny days a year on the most luxurious coast of southern Europe.
On the other hand, high level and international promoters with a longstanding presence in these cities have expressed their clients are demanding mostly projects that represent an investment, with magnificent sea and golf views and luxury buildings.
Taylor Wimpey, promoting the luxurious lifestyle
Taylor Wimpey Spain is an international firm that promotes a wide number of both upcoming and turnkey projects, out of which there are two special ones in Marbella at this very moment: Royal Banus and La Floresta Sur.
The first one is comprised by 24 outstanding and luxury apartments in an exclusive location that has all possible amenities to satisfy the most demanding investors and the latter is an incredible residential complex located in the area of Elvira. In addition, the international real estate promoting company is investing in a 48-unit project in Estepona, called Green Golf.
Nvoga Realty Marbella, real estate for the elite
Nvoga Realty Marbella, in alliance with Icon from Urbania International, are expanding toward the areas of Santa Clara Golf, in a project that has captured the interest of many elite sports personalities, and Le Blanc, a development that comprises 22 villas in the prestigious area of Sierra Blanca, half of which have been reserved after just a few days since it was released to the market.
Nvoga also commercialises The Edge. These are 70 homes based on the drawings and incredibly innovative concept of the highly recognised architect Rafael de la Hoz in conjunction with the promoter Kronos Homes, which have found some of the few lands right in front of the beach that are still left in the coast, located in Arroyo Vaquero.
AEDAS Homes, working on the largest industrialised home project
Even though this high-level company has outstanding offers in Estepona, they also have lands and flats in the province of Malaga to promote residential projects with more than 2,600 homes in the next few years.
Currently, AEDAS Homes is developing eight different promotions and over 500 homes. Among them, some of the most highlighted are Vanian Gardens and Vanian Valley, which will host 164 and 53 families respectively. The latter is the largest promotion of industrialised homes in all of Spain and it is already in the building process.
Gilmar, reaffirming their presence in the coast
The real estate company with one of the largest local presences in Costa del Sol is also working on several promotions in Estepona. Hoyo 19 is one of their proudest promotions, which are 138 new developmetns located in front of the golf course Los Flamingos. However, Gilmar is also promoting 29 homes in El Campanario Hills and Casas del Mar in the area of Guadalobón.
