About the ATP CHALLENGER
The tournament will take place from 25 to 31 March 2019. It was unveiled last week on Thursday that this year’s event will see 80 ATP points given to the winner. The tournament is being held right in the heart of Malaga’s Golden Mile. It will take place on the grounds of the Puente Romano tennis club.
International professional tennis matches are planned to take place. After the ATP World Tours, the Challenger Tours is the second-highest ranked competition. Top-class talent will once again come to Marbella at the Puente Romano Tennis Club. Competitors will be hoping to walk away with the Casino Admiral Trophy. It is the second time in a row that the competition is being held at the club.
Adrian Menendez, a local tennis star will be the host and ambassador of the competition once again. The tournament hopes to consolidate itself as one of the core components of the ATP Challenger Series, which is the second highest tennis competition globally.
Stars from the Past Event
Last year, tennis start such as Alejandro Davidovich, Enrique López Pérez, Marcel Granollers, and Roberto Carballés all took part in the competition. There were also international stars at the event such as Alexei Popyrin from Australia, Dudi Sela from Israel Guido, Dustin Brown from Germany and Andreozzi of Italy, who was recently ranked in the top 100. The eventual winner of last year’s tournament was Stefano Travaglia of Italy.
The prize money for the event this year will be 43,000 euros. It is expected that some of the top 100 tennis stars in the world will take part. Besides that, some of the most prodigious talent in tennis is expected to come here with the hope of making a mark on the international stage.
Music and Entertainment
In the second edition of the Casino Admiral Trophy, entertainment will be offered in terms of a music festival that will include flamenco and opera and classical performances that will take place in the VIP tent during the final weekend.
